Deleting Pages

Deleting a page is easy but should only be done in specific circumstances. Before you delete a page, consider whether or not it would be better to archive/unpublish it. Archived/Unpublsihed pages are saved on the back-end of the site and can be referenced, copied from, or published again.

Deleting a Page

If deleting the page is the best option you can do it in two different ways.

Follow these instructions for both options.

  1. Go to the Edit tab
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the red Delete button.
    • Double-check to make sure you want to permanently delete the entire page.

  3. Click the blue Delete button or the Cancel button to go back to the editing page.

Keep in mind this action cannot be undone

You can also delete pages using the admin menu while viewing the published version of a page.

  1. Click the page status box in the top right of the admin menu
    • This is a colored box that displays the status of the page you are viewing (green for published, red for draft, and yellow indicating you are viewing a published page that has a draft saved)
    • A menu will appear on the right side of the window with the same options displayed on the top of a page (Edit, Revisions, Clone etc.)
  2. Click the red Delete button
    • Double-check to make sure you want to permanently delete the entire page
  3. Click the blue Delete button or the Cancel button to go back to the viewing page

Again, this action cannot be undone.

Deleting a Draft or Revision

Deleting a page is different than deleting a draft or previously saved revision. If you need to delete a draft or revision you can do this from the revisions tab.

  1. Go to the Revisions tab
    • You can also get to this page using the page status box in the top right of the admin menu
  2. Identify the draft or revision you want to permanently delete
  3. Click the arrow next to the Revert button in the grey box on the right side of the window to expand more options for the revision and click Delete
    • If a saved draft exists the grey button on the right will read Set as current revision
  4. Double-check to make sure you want to permanently delete the draft or revision
  5. Click the blue Delete button or the Cancel button to go back to the viewing page

Like deleting pages, this action cannot be undone.
