Promotion
Promotions are standalone elements used to succinctly highlight or promote services, events, calls to action, or other information in short chunks.
Promotions are very flexible and can:
- Include visuals, like graphics or photos
- Feature video
- Include summary text
- Link to subpages within your website
- Link to documents
- Link to web pages on external websites
- Be placed on the homepage or subpages of your website
Graphic Design
To ensure your promotion graphics are in line with the GW Visual Identity Standards & Guidelines, we recommend that you have them created by Marketing & Creative Services.
Creating Your Promotion
- Enter your Title
- The Subtitle is not supported and should be left blank.
- Use the Body field to provide summary text
- The Summary also appears as the synopsis for a video.
When copying your content from an external source (ex: MS Word, a PDF, an email or Google Doc), use the Paste as Plain Text or Paste From Word icon. Otherwise, unintended formatting may be applied causing the page layout and other formatting to become inconsistent.
- Use the Main Image field to add your visual
- Do not use the Body field.
- Use the File Browser link to locate an image that has already been uploaded to your website's database or to upload one from your hard drive.
- The optional Link fields create a link on the Title text.
- The Link Title is what the user will see.
- The Link URL is where users will go after clicking on the link.
- The optional Video Link fields superimpose a play button over the Main Image that triggers a lightbox video player when clicked.
- Only YouTube and Vimeo videos are supported
- The Video Title field is internal; users will not see it
- Paste the YouTube or Vimeo video link into the Video URL field
- The optional Call to Action (CTA) fields create a dedicated link apart from the Body text meant to encourage users to take an action.
- The CTA Title is the text users will see
- The CTA URL is where users will go after clicking on the link
