Grid

Exclusive to the GW Drupal Editorial theme, the Promotion Set content set (aka the Grid) allows you to create a grid layout of Promotions in sets of 2, 3 or 4.

The content set will display the Promotions in a single row, up to a maximum of four (4) items. It will not display a new row if more than four items are added to the set.

Promotion Sets are optimized to display a Promotion's: main image, title, body text, a call-to-action link and a featured video. The display of each of these supported elements is optional, to provide a customized layout experience.

As with all Content Sets, the content being featured - Promotions, in this case - must be created first, before they can be added to the Content Set.

Promotion Set vs WYSIWYG Templates

Deciding between using the Promotion Set content set or the WYSIWYG Templates is at the discretion of the content owner. There are a few style differences between the two, for instance, the icon after the call to action link in a Promotion Set is not available in the WYSIWYG Templates. Otherwise, they function very similarly.

Our recommendation is to consider whether the content will need to be replicated across multiple pages and if the content is evergreen or will change frequently. Promotion Set content sets can be easily reused across multiple pages, while WYSIWYG Templates must be manually created on each page. It is also easier to add, remove and reorder the content in Promotion Sets than it is in the WYSIWYG Templates.
